Alternitive rear bumper for 1964 stepside....
Hi everyone...1st post.
I just bought a 1964 stepside last week and it doesn't have a rear bumper. I want to do all chrome grille, bumpers, bezels later on but need a rear bumper for now. Has anyone put a rear bumper from an other year chev truck on? I'm comcerned with the width. I'll drill the holes to make it work. Just need something to get me legal. |

The 67-72 bumper not only fits, but looks great. The 73-80s bumper will work, too.

I picked up a rear from my dads '57 step side after he switched out to chrome ones. I haven't tried to fit it yet but looks like it should work.

I have this one in my archives. Love the way this looks. I think it's a 67-72 stepside bumper.

Any special mods you need to do for the 67 to fit?
Thanks |

No mods required to the bumper, but you'll need the correct 67-72 brackets.
Edit: Oops, I just realized that 64stpside's question was about a STEPSIDE bumper. I can only assume that the bumper is a simple swap, but my experience is with Fleetside bumpers. Hopefully someone will confirm. Sorry.

Re: Alternitive rear bumper for 1964 stepside....
This could work too. This is an aftermarket step bumper for a square style S10. The narrow bumper fit well on a 67-72 stepside, so since the beds are the same for these years, it might work well here too.
