for the love of god.. [updated]
.. does anyone know where this clip goes on a tilt column? I took it apart one night and was rushing (it was dark too) and I cannot remember where it goes and it doesnt look like it NEEDS to be anywhere. Its the only thing holding me up.
I have another tilt column from a '84 (im working on a '91) but its a last resort- tearing down the spare.. hopefully someone has seen it also if anyone has a manual with an exploded view, I would love a pic!! thanks, mike Last edited by mike reeh; 09-10-2003 at 11:12 PM. |

Hmm... Neither of the two columns I've taken apart from my trucks have had one of those. I did have another peice that was a part of the locking mechanism, but it looked totally different than that one. Sorry.

Is that not part of the turn signal cam assembly? If I remember right, there was one of those in there when I replaced mine.

bigred: not part of the turn signal cancelling cam. Similar, but its not
Poonman: thats exactly what Im thinking. I bit the bullet and am tearing down my spare column right now. I have it almost all the way apart and havent found it yet. Im going to inspect the turn signal lever real close.... More later mike |

that looks like it would be the one in the turn signal switch on an older column

Hmm... Maybe thats why my locking mechanism doesn't work...
Any information on how that thing works while I've still got mine disassembled? Also, make sure you got the key switch lined up properly, thats why I've had to take mine apart again...
