another front Air bag thread/ questions (sorry)
In continuation from my c20 spindle swap thread, I have moved on to the air bags. 64 c20 stock a arms, 76 spindles. bought plate and cup. cut 1/2in off bottom so far everything is clear. The concerns of mine are
1- angle at pressure (seems like 80psi is getting it up but rubbing on itself SEE VIDEO) 2-aired out running no bump stop. looks close to the 2.8 inches and there looked like there were internal metal studs where threads are. this ok to let it sit on itself? I know not to drive on it. 3- when aired out it obviously/definately rubs where the bellows roll over.. is this ok too? 4- at height is between 5.5 and 6". Will I be ok? Specs say 6-9... Other than these I think it is ok. I am weary of cutting a large portion out of the LCA to cup them. https://youtu.be/AJeQLunPW8I |

I believe the bag touching its self is fine but it can't touch anything metal that could rub a hole in it over time.

Re: another front Air bag thread/ questions (sorry)
I have found in my truck that if I first inflate past my desired front pressure, and then deflate slightly to my desired front pressure, the bag will have plenty of room on all sides to not touch the control arm. It is my understanding that you want to avoid having the bag rub when inflated and driving, touching itself (inflated or deflated) or the arm when deflated shouldn't cause any issues provided there are no sharp edges which can abrade the bag.
