crown vic. rearend?

are the crown victoria rearends ford 9"ers with disc brakes? or are those only the police models?

they are most likely the 8.8 rear, like in the Mustang. Possibly with disc brakes, though.

I dunno about the crown vic's, but most ones i have seen came out of '70's Lincon cars......Continetials and Mark's, ect.

Lincoln Versallies (sp?) are the only ones that i've heard of with disc brakes, i've never even seen one of those, much less the rear end for one. i say put a 9 in it, and go aftermarket discs.

Them Impala SS had rear discs and a 10bolt with the same bolt pattern as our trucks. Caddy's from 76-8? had 12 bolts with disc (this is where the rear calipers are coming from for the majority of conversions)

the lincoln versalles rear end 80 and 81 at least are 9 inch with disc brakes and work very well, I put one in my 73 maverick 2 door.they are scarce and expensive, I paid 600 for complete setup with all lines and perportion valve.If you can find one it is a great setup

I like Capt's idea for the 10 bolt!! That or a 9C1 Caprice. An Impala that year might be a scarse find in a wrecking yard, where a junked cop car might be easier to pick up.
