'69 C30 front disc brakes?
I have done a few days of Google and searching the site but haven't come across any concrete answers for the C30's. My truck is a 8 lug dually. Do I just need to find a squarebody 2wd dually and get the front crossmember/suspension or is there a simpler way to swapping out the front drum brakes on the 1 ton's?
Thanks! |

Re: '69 C30 front disc brakes?
Find a square dually and get the front suspension from it. If your not wanting to tear down so far as to have to pull out the motor, just replace the A-arms and stuff of that nature and leave the 69 crossmember in the truck. The suspension should just bolt up back to that crossmember, just as in the lighter truck your stuff is just bigger/heavier. Also it might be good to grab the rear from that square too and get closer to a more friendly rear gear ratio, The ratio in my 71 C30 is like 5:38

Re: '69 C30 front disc brakes?
I found a 79 1 ton dually chassis for $250 with disc brakes, complete exhaust, including tires. I swapped out the front crossmember and rear end complete. I have a build thread called Meet Homer if you want to see the process.
