1971 Super Cheyenne build
This is my first frame off restoration. I had this in the main forum section but it was suggested to start a build thread. The truck is a 1971 super cheyenne long bed. Big block 402 with turbo 400 trans. I am shortening it, lowering it... etc. Its going to be a daily driver for awhile. Let the good time begin. I started this project in April 2015.

Body was in decent shape. Rust in rocker and cab corners.

Re: 1971 Super Cheyenne build
Found a hidden gem in my fender. Almost 1/2" of bondo in some place. I had an extra fender with damage in a different place so I just used the good part.

You make it look easy..!!
Just wondering about your frame cut. I saw another post I thought was by you where it was only a 2" step notch.? I was looking for that build as I want to leave my cab on when I cut my frame. Here is the one from this thread: And here is the 2" cut from the other thread:

Re: 1971 Super Cheyenne build
Because I took the cab off to sandblast the frame, that's why I cut under the cab. The red truck I didn't want to pull the can. If you start your cut right behind the mount you can get your 12" no problem. Then you have to move your crossmember.
