if your putting these in a 1/2 ton frame they may not fit right. they are too long/tall.

Re: WTB C20 Engine frame brackets 73-87

check the fact section because the are taller than the 67-72. so you mount the frame brackets lower and then redrill the engine mount to bolt higher. Plus for future I have found that the 1/2 and 3/4 mounts both small and big block are the same. Might be wrong but done a few of these swaps for people with big blocks in 67-72 very nice stock parts swap

Re: WTB C20 Engine frame brackets 73-87

QKSILVER not sure if you are saying that the 73+ c10 or c20 mounts would fit my 67-72 c10 best or not.

Here is a response I received from a member on our site name Captainfab, I trust his word.

Captainfab

"If you want to use the better '73+ engine mounts, you will want the frame brackets from a '73-'86 C20,30 or a '87-'91 R2500/3500. Those brackets fit the '72 and earlier frames best. The C10 brackets are too tall and require a spacer on top of the frame.

The brackets from a 4wd are totally different and will not work. It does not matter whether the truck had a small block or a big block. I'm not sure about a diesel."

Thanks

Re: WTB C20 Engine frame brackets 73-87

he half agree's with me! the 1/2 and 3/4 are the same brackets, give them a try. I have mounted both on 64-72 1/2 and 3/4 frames, the 64-72 c30 frames are taller.

doesn't really matter to me, give it a shot , I happen to have a 86 2 wheel c-20 and a 85 C-10 sitting next to each other , stripping them down and they are the same brackets. I have the same brackets , used on my BB 1/2 72 burb in my shop.

No problem, do what you want................just trying to help you from my many years of hands on stripping and swapping parts or building up bastard trucks from many different years of production
. I have gone thru 69 trucks in just the last year and a half.

Good luck and have fun

Steve
