driveshaft length
I want to go from a 2" lift to a 4" lift but my driveshaft is only in on the tcase by about 1/3 of the way so it loks like I will need to get a longer driveshaft....
can I use trig to find a the new length or jack the back of the truck up by the frame and mesure for a new length? Or do I have to wait untill I do the lift I would like to have it ready before becasue it is my driver it looks like the po tapered he rear blocks to index the axle to avoid lengthing the driveshaft tia

going from 2 to 4 inches won't make much dif to the shaft length. Further more i've never heard of any DS problems with 4" lift. I would definately wait til you've got it lifted to see if you really need to do anything. If your worried take it to the drivetrain shop and see what they say.

I got a driveline company to make me new rear driveshafts on my K20s with 4" lift that were a little longer. It probably wasn't required since I don't do any offroading, but I had a balance problem also.
