Gorgeous Blazer on EBay (not mine)

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Blaz...580?nav=SEARCH Crazy bids up past $18,000 but I almost needed a bib while looking at the photos! Although I may have a soft spot for it as my truck is the same colour

Look at the 4th picture down in the listing. You can see the bondo smeared into the bottom corner of the door. With obvious hack work like that, I wonder what the rest of the body is like???

Re: Gorgeous Blazer on EBay (not mine)

Although it is a beautiful looking Blazer you have to wonder whats under the paint. The pic of the drivers side door striker looks like it was also covered with bondo and looks like there may have been some rust because it looks to be cracking.

For that kind of money I would be looking for a mint survivor not a repaint patch up. A/C not even installed?

Re: Gorgeous Blazer on EBay (not mine)

Nice interior. Not even close to original. Dyed half of the instrument bezel to match the dash cap.

The exterior mirror is creative. Covering up a spotlight hole?

The engine compartment and underside are questionable.
Painted over the AC accumulator and everything else on the firewall including the wiring, master cylinder, and vacuum booster hose.
Painted over almost everything but the engine, transmission, and transfer case on the bottom.
The crossmember looks like there's still a bunch of crud under the paint.

No TXV & Missing a lot more of the AC parts.

The driver door striker area is a big ?????? Cracks in the paint and looks like the surface of the ocean around it. The striker doesn't have the plastic bushing either.

Lower rear corner of driver door looks too smooth on the inside. Bondo?

Re: Gorgeous Blazer on EBay (not mine)

I just couldn't imagine spending that kind of money on a 40 yr. old car without personally inspecting it. If it was original paint you would have an idea what you are looking at, but a fresh repaint could hide many things. The Used Car prep. makes it look more like a paint job and less of a restoration.
