68 K20 Brake light problem
Help...please.
I need to get my truck inspected to transfer the title and get tags. I have no brake lights. Tail lights, turn signals. reverse lights all work. Brake light switch ohmed out good. Jumpered out the switch plug and no brake lights but had good voltage on white wire down stream. Searching here says white wire goes up the steering column. looking at the diagrams posted this looks intimidating as hell. would it most likely be the turn signal switch needs to be replaced or a connection problem that could be repaired? Sorry if this is long winded, anybody have any advice to offer. Is the TS switch something someone with hardly any mechanical skills do? |

I believe the switch may be the culprit, since you have all the other lights, check to make sure the switch is hooked up, and if it is, chances are you may have two 1157 stop lamp bulbs burnt out, at least the stop filament any way's. if you have a volt meter, check to see if you have voltage at the socket end of the stop lamps....
