My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
So since I'm done (for now) with my 63 Stepper "EZ Eight" and my 70 C10 is now a citizen of Australia I decided to pull my 63 SWB BBW project out (aka Frank) and finish him up...
Here's Frank sitting next to EZ Eight and starting to get piled in... And here's my former 70 C10 that now resides in Australia Last edited by NVS-C10; 12-15-2015 at 04:03 PM. |

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
So now that Frank is in a place where I can work on him, I dusted him off and checked out where I left off and what's next on the list. I also installed some freshly powder coated stockers and new rubber.
I had already finished most the front suspension and my next steps should be rear suspension then the 283/Powerglide drive train. Last edited by NVS-C10; 12-15-2015 at 09:17 PM. |

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
OK some updates...
Got my CPP notches in (you can see the template I made on the floor in the background: Shipping was free and super-fast (1-day), fitment was spot on, and the only hard part of the job I could say was getting out (fighting lol) the factory rivets |

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
Had a productive weekend... #1 the most important.. got the cab mounted
Here's some pics once it was first on.. we still had to adjust the cab on the frame left to right/front to back before finally tightening all the body mounts but couldn't wait to take a picture! |

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
Then proceeded to put the gas tank back in and bench seat (not pictured) then new reproduction rubber mat so it can sit out to fit better...

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
Next weekend on to wiring, e-brake, speedo-cable, sound deadening and insulating the cab floor, etc.. the following weekend core support and front sheet metal.. and week of the 29th new exhaust then start Frank up!!!
Also pretty sure I'm going to be ordering CPP 6-lug front disc setup with drop spindles... |

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
For now.. they're stock 15x6's that I powder coated. They're off 73-87 so they'll clear disc brakes and I have the full set of 64/65 stainless caps. Once I get the disc brake kit on I'm gonna see if the track width difference is noticeable and if so some 15x8 steelies out back.
However I've been debating on some mob steels, transport wheels, or centerline smoothies. Last edited by NVS-C10; 05-19-2016 at 08:15 PM. |

Re: My 63 SWB BBW Build Frank
So didn't get as much as I hoped done on Frank this weekend but isn't that the truth for most of us lol.
I got the Cab all lined up and I'm happy with the fit. I also got the gas tank permanently installed with filler neck and hardware. |

I also started on the electrical, installed my reverse lights, and began finishing the back section of the wood bed floor.
