Finally In My Shop!!!
I just completed a trade for this pretty nice, rust free 67 C10.
It was started many years ago and the fellow passed away before he finished it. His wife stored it, and it has not been licensed for quite a few years. It is a great start to what I want to build as a driver that is nice enough to go to local shows etc. I drive Chevy's, but have spent the last several years messing with IH Scouts.. Sold the last Scout which was a full resto and said that was it.. ha ha.. that did not last long.. So here we go again, but this will not be a frame off.. Basically finish what was started with some of my own ideas.. As soon as my Magnaflow exhaust system gets here, the side pipes are GONE!!! I have not finished the inventory of all the trim parts that came with it, but will do that this weekend.. At least it was painted the original colors but am not positive about the scheme.. I don't think the 4545AD had a lower white.. I do have the original owners manual and the Protecto Plate..just have to get the dang Sears Tire sticker off of the SPID so I can see the option codes.. V8 with 3 on the Tree.. By the way, thanks for a great site with a huge knowledge base. I have already used a bit of it.. Here are a couple of pics. Still dirty from storage. Bath with soap on Saturday!! Supergas

Re: Finally In My Shop!!!
With some Simple Green Aircraft Cleaner, I got that Dang Sears Tire sticker off of my SPID It's a bit yellow from the 1971 Sears Tire Warranty sticker, but it is readable..
I now can see all of the options, which brings up questions I did not know I had. Anybody know what the option code "4E81AA Pickup Box Floor" refers to? Is this the standard metal floor or the wood option? Another great option is the 4AI0AA Panoramic Cab which is the Big Back Window.. Unfortunately the new one still in the box is cracked so I have to get a new back window.. I have a great auto glass shop here in my little town that says they can cut me a new one from the cracked one.. it will be a green tint which is fine with me as we get a lot of sunshine down here.. Anyhow, I just started messing with it today and the next thing is to get it running right, tune up, carb adjust etc.. it is not the original engine, but a 350 of unknown origin until I can get the block number.. doing that tomorrow.. Has anyone ever done the wood floor using the synthetic deck boards instead of varnished or painted wood?? I have a plastics plant 25 miles from me that I can buy their seconds directly from at a much better price than Lowes.. Just another thought from my old worn out brain.. Supergas

Nice truck , I think after doing IH scouts you will find parts easier to locate and pricing of parts to be more reasonable . good luck with your truck
Plastic composite instead of wood is interesting , I would check in to how much the composite expands compared to hard woods such as oak , I do know that composite decking gets extremely hot when in the full sun |

Re: Finally In My Shop!!!
You are right about that!!! I "Refurbed" 4 Scouts over the last 10 years and the last one was a complete off the frame nut & bolt restore.. she turned out to be a Trailer Queen as she hated to get dirty Here is a couple of pics of the Trailer Queen..
I was going to just do the metal bed but now I want to know what the option code is before I buy the metal floor.. I may use Diamond Plate which I have done on a couple of the Scouts.. very strong, very reasonable but not "Original" looking in the 67.. I have a friend who did a huge deck with the polyvinyl wood and he really likes it.. no shrinkage like wood and will never rot.. We shall see.. SG

Re: Finally In My Shop!!!
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.
Since the bed floor was wood, I am going to try to go back that way, however since I tend to do things a "Little" different, and have a friend who has the metal dividers from a truck he did years ago, I am going to try to do the wood in the synthetic deck material.. I really want to try this as the sun and salt air is brutal on wood down here.. And since the bottom white is fine now and may be original, I am going t leave it for the time being. Just install the trim & buff out the paint. Debating whether or not to remove the underdash/aftermarket AC or just refurb it.. also needs a heater core. If the price of refurb gets close to Vintage Air price, I will go that way and be all up to date on the AC/Defrost/Heat system.. Other than that and some cleaning up and getting running right, the truck should be on the road in a month or so.. but as we all know, it will NEVER be DONE.. Thanks again for the welcome and a great site, Supergas

Re: Finally In My Shop!!!
I'm afraid the same thing will happen to me before mines done... I hope its at least far enough along the wife or kids or wont have to worry about parts scattered everywhere.... Im sure it broke his heart not being able to finish it if he knew he was going to go...

Re: Finally In My Shop!!!
A member here did the fake wood (Deck Material) in his truck and it turned out great ,try a search and you will probably find it .I have a couple of Chevy and Chevelle park type benches with wood seating and backs that I plan to use the composite stuff on .
