Re: who makes nice reproduction grilles for 69-70?
Yeah, which company has the best repro 69-70 grille surround, these days? Several years ago I heard Counterpart was making them. Are they the only ones producing them?

Re: who makes nice reproduction grilles
I just bought new inner and outer for my 70 from LMC. They fit perfectly without modification. I know they get drug through the mud quite a bit, but I have ordered several parts/panels from them over the last few years and they all fit great. I had no trouble at all.

Re: who makes nice reproduction grilles
I bought mine for $35 at an auction and it was both inner and outer day 2 NOS but, if I was in your shoes I'd probably go with one of the vendors on here or, Brothers or, Classic Parts although they won't be exact. Most people don't really know the difference, the black lines above and below CHEVROLET go from one end to the other and, day 2 NOS or, repops stop at the turn signals. and someday I'm gonna paint my inner grille so it's kosher like a 70 inner should be.

Re: who makes nice reproduction grilles
I suspect that a lot of companies make a lot of stuff for a lot of resellers. I've had good luck so far with LMC, not so much with POL. YMMV.

Re: who makes nice reproduction grilles
Well I'm in no hurry and I'm not building a show truck. Just a primerd poorboy driver. Grilles won't get any cheaper so I am online shopping. It's difficult to tell by the item descriptions just what some are selling as far as steel or aluminum, raw or polished or chrome finished. NOS is out of the question. I have given thought to pounding mine out and finish work it then paint it but I really don't want to do that. And I haven't found an aluminum paint that comes close to the look of an OE grille surround either. Is there a good aerosol aluminum colored paint that dries hard and looks like polished aluminum?
