Where did you mount your CB radio?
Hey guys, trying to get my rig set up in my Suburban, but with the factory bench seat and me being almost 7 feet tall, my options are limited. I don't want to mount it to the ash tray since it would interfere with my 4x4 shifter when its open, and mounting it under the radio will interfere with my leg. Has anyone mounted it to the roof or top of the dash? I want to mount my trailer brake controller under the column and I'm pretty sure the CB would be too bulky there. I'm planning on swapping in an 88-94 split bench so I wouldn't have a console to mount it too. Limited space and options! Opinions/examples please?
Thanks guys! Last edited by 93FatBottom; 02-05-2016 at 10:38 AM. |

Re: Where did you mount your CB radio?
ive mounted mine under the ash tray.
in my C10 i had a full size Cobra mounted directly under it using the ash tray screws. the ash tray could still open just fine. in my K10 i currently have one of the mini Cobras mounted off to the side of the ash tray. i used the right ashtray screw and drilled another hole for the other side of the CB bracket. doesnt get in the way of the shifter |

Re: Where did you mount your CB radio?
My truck had it mounted below the ash tray in the center of the hump. It seemed pretty convenient. It didn't work so I removed it but I am very interested in getting another one.

Mine is mounted to the floor, facing up, between the transfer case shifter and the seat.

Re: Where did you mount your CB radio?
My mount lined up with the ash tray bolts. My ashtray still fully opens and my transfer case shifter doesn't interfere

Man, I thought this was a lost post from the 70s. Rock on, Bandit!
