This can't be right. Transfer case linkage.
Having my tcase rebuilt and I noticed the linkage when I removed it.
I added a pic and a quick video. Video shows the play in the unit. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/jcem...larur.mp4.html

That is an original linkage, but appears to have a bolt welded to it. Probably welded at the wrong angle giving it the excess slop.

I saw one on the parts board a few weeks ago, you can check both areas, pickups and blazers, any four wheel drive linkage with a 205 will do, I'll keep my eye out for you also and I look through my stash.

Re: This can't be right. Transfer case linkage.
To use a twin stick, you'd need to mod the shift rods.
I have the little linkage bit on a spare shifter. Lots of writeups on how out there. The pivot bolts may still be available from folks who sell NOS parts. I'd google np205 pivot bolt. Or measure the OD of the bolt that's there (looks like .5") and get a bushing the same length as the shifter is wide at that spot. You may need to cut the bushing in half lengthways to get it over the threads. For the linkage, why not gently break the weld on the shifter, cut the bolt to the right length and drill a cotter pin hole. Maybe gring the hex head down or hack it off and start fresh. Looks like the number for the greaseable bolt is 14009313. I see them available for ~$3. A few keywords and seconds to search. Last edited by franken; 02-19-2016 at 09:56 PM. |

Thanks for the info. I will probably be doing everything you said but I really like that twin shifter setup.

Re: This can't be right. Transfer case linkage.
One cool thing about the twin stick is that, with some shift rail mods it will give you front wheel drive only as well. There are times when off roading when that does come in handy believe it or not. My 3100 is going to get a twin stick setup someday.
