tail light wireing help
on my 72 i keep blowing the fuse for tail/signals and brake lights i have looked at it some.sometime it blows when you first put it in then some time it may last 3 months i have noticed my signals blink really fast.has anybody had this problem just wondering what area to concentrate on i hate wires lol

what size fuse should i use on it.also i dont think its in the tail lights because i hardly ever drive it at night

If it's blowing fuses chances are you have a intermittent short. The first thing I would do is to remove the complete rear harness for the taillights and check over it with a fine tooth comb for any breaches in the insolation. Chances are that is where you will find your problem, because the wires are probly old and brittle, and who knows how many times it has been tapped into for trailer wiring. If that isn't the problem work your way forward, removing the intermediate harness next, that is also a popular one to tap into. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

i think its in the front harness now in the signals my front marker lights blink with the signal i can shake the signal wires on either side or the main harness and the signals start blinking really fast then you move it again and they almost go out getting real dim the harness is still wrapped in fac. tape cant find where its been spliced into could this be a ground problem also how hard is it to change front light harness ive got another one but was planning on usein it on the other 72
