Where are all the C30's ??

I have a 66 C30 flat bed that my dad purchased in 1970 and he used it to pull a gooseneck horse trailer showing his walking/racking horses in the celebrations and horse shows. (the dump was used to clean out the stalls). It has it has the regular "rust spots" of a truck this old but overall in better and good condition. I just want to get the running gears updated and make it more "road worthy". Not real big on shiny paint and restoration, especially since its in such good original condition. Anyone else out there got any C30 experience than can help me from making costly mistakes?

Here is Darla. 1965 Chevy C30 flatbed that I purchased from the original owner. Similar suspension setup as clemdaddy - I did a 1986 front and rear suspension swap. Going through the whole truck right now to update it and eventually prep it for a 12v Cummins.

Cool ride clemdaddy I was debating on dropping to 16" wheels, yours looks pretty good... Like the sideboards too. Some reason I can't load the picks of Darla, I'm sure she's a beaut! Thanks guys!!
