66 Hood rust trouble areas modifications?

Im working on my hood after the blaster took off what they felt safe to remove.
Said that since I removed the braces in the center it would warp.

On the rear sides there are the usual spots that rust uop that Im fixing, or gonna try to with my mig. Without having the large brace removed I cant get behind to planish as I weld. Hoping I can get it done right.

As I cut out one corner I wondered if anyone has modified these problem areas somehow to keep the crud and water and junk behind that brace in the first place. Extra drainage somehow? Or is seam sealer the way to go?
