Red or Green

We are in the process of changing the radiator for a new Aluminum 4 core radiator. My question is what do you all recommend for the coolant?? Is the red or green the best. The engine is a 305 ci with new carb and intake manifold. Responses and suggestions are appreciated...

Re: Red or Green

I would go with the 50/50 red, I run green in mine , but if you go from green to red flush it really good and try to get all the water out. we changed our fleet to 50/50 red and cut down on a lot of problems." don't use dexcool"

Re: Red or Green

green green green.. also depends on aluminum or cast.. the red cleans to dam well witch will peel out a cast block and look like crap in few months. also red is raided for longer life.. but I ****ch out for the green even if the it came red from factory I flush it al out and switch.. it s just glycol.. but my choice is always green..

Re: Red or Green

How come no one has mentioned blue yet? Pentosin Pentofrost NF (blue) is very aluminum friendly and the BMW OE coolant used in their aluminum engines (but, most all coolant is aluminum friendly these days). O'reillys carries Pentosin NF

I thought you were talking about chile there for a minute!!! I am from New Mexico and when you ask that famous question it refers to how you like your chile. Silly me. Just couldn't help it. of course both are excellent. :ito

Re: Red or Green

Thanks for the advice and suggestions, I prefer New Mexico RED chili the best. As for the coolant, looks like the choice is GREEN...

Re: Red or Green

The newest of the coolant mixes with either but has a reddish color. it will say on the bottle if it mixes with all[almost] other coolants.

It's most always Christmas over on my plate.
Green 50/50 mix in the radiator.
