Passenger Door Control
I thought I had the wrong passenger door control because the arm that connects the inside door handle to the latch did not line up to the channel, it seemed like it was the same as the driver's side. I have attached a picture of the right side door control mechanism I bought from classic parts. Does this seem right? It seems to be the same part I had. Shouldn't it fit in the channel like the driver's door does?
I want to get my facts straight before I return the right one for a left one for use on the right side. http://www.classicparts.com/1947-54-.../#.VubjA3pSIWs Thanks for the help. -Ryan

Re: Passenger Door Control
I have no idea why other than GM being cheap, but yes it does not fit the channel as it does on the other side, I have seen some that do but they were early 47 48 trucks. All the repops are that way

Re: Passenger Door Control
Are you sure it doesn't mount either way (i.e. turn it upside down)?

Re: Passenger Door Control
The mounting holes don't line up since there are only three holes. I am thinking of just using the two mounting holes and flipping it around so I don't have to build in clearance for the bar when I install my door panels

Re: Passenger Door Control
Ryan, didn't even notice yours was an AD... the control looks just like the TF and I related to mine, where we have 3 holes and it is reversible.

Re: Passenger Door Control
I have wondered why they did that stupid thing for the 40 years I have owned my truck.
I actually made one work properly. Brian
