How to make new cab data plates!

This thread should cover it all. This guy is restoring some of his vintage shop equipment, and wanted new metal data plates. Should be the exact methods required for our plates. His results (and the low costs) are impressive.

Not so sure how well it will stand up- he makes a comment in one post to keep them out of direct sun light. Perhaps they can be clear coated to prevent fading.

If someone wanted to buy a sheet of blanks and sell some, I would be willing to buy a couple. I could stamp the numbers from mine. PM me if anyone thinks they may do this.

Serious question here, I am not familiar with 60-66 trucks. Where is the data plate that it would be in direct sunlight a lot?

I believe there was a forum member making these in the past. I just can't remember who it was. Someone was making SPID tags too.
