Removing fenders

I need to remove my fenders so I can clean them up some. Is it possible to remove just the fenders without having to also remove the inner fenders/wheel wells? Also, are the fenders fairly easy to remove? Thanks.

Re: Removing fenders

Just got done doing this to a 1968 c10, but I removed the whole thing at once (wheel well and fender). There is @ 20 bolts per fender to remove the whole thing. Ask away if you got questions.

Re: Removing fenders

The thing about leaving the inner on the truck is the J nuts that the inner is attached with will break and you need the fender inner combo on a table [or stand ] to reach in there with vice grips to hold the broken part of the clip. I've never removed a inner from a fender where at least a couple of those not break. Good luck

Re: Removing fenders

Was it pretty easy removing the fender and wheel well together?

Re: Removing fenders

I was able to soak the inner J nuts and all of them with PB Blaster for a couple days then slowly work them out by backing out a little then back in and another spray of blaster, back them out again, but yea its pretty easy just more weight.
