Question 50th Anniversary chevy trucks

Can any of you guys out there with 50th Anniversary chevy trucks
help. I found a rusty white 1968 Chevy fleet side with gold Interior trim but no glove box door. The truck has been painted in the past so maybe it was gold and white at one time.
Can you guys with 50th Anniversary trucks post some pics of your trucks, show and tell all of the special trim and parts that make it a 50th. Also show and tell what it says on the service parts decale on the inside of the glove door.

Or email the pics to me at 2936renshaw@comcast.net

Heres a shot of my build sheet. My glove box sticker was gone too and just happen to find the build sheet in the springs of the BOTTOM of the seat. I say look for the build sheet

First it should be a 1968 model
A 50th model will have a paint code of 551 (Gold and Off white or ivory) And the interior code of 625 (Gold and Parchment)
Although there are some variations to these numbers depending on whether it was a half-ton or other.
The truck should either be a Custom or CST model
It should have the paint separator trim at the rear of the cab
All of the ones I have seen were fleet sides
The trim items that are unique would be the Gold Visors and clips gold dash pad and gold seat belts and special seat covers even though these were available on other models with the solid gold paint also. Also Gold steering column
A good sign is to check areas where the original paint has not been covered like between the bed and cab, look for the lower color to be white.

Some of the items will bring a good price if found to be in good shape.
Here is a link to an auction to give you an idea of value.
68 gold sun visors
Have fun

Is should be a Custom or CST trim level. It should have the thin chrome trim under the rear window that would seperate the white top of the cab from the lower body color. It should have the belt chrome trim. None of these pieces make it a 50th but a 50th should have all these things.

If you can see the original seats they should be two-tone gold with parchment inserts in the back and seats.

I have some pictures but my boy is on the other computer right now.

Burb71, i was going to answer the e-mail you sent me last night bit I fell asleep and my head slammed into my keyboard. (the puter is OK)
All this info is correct, except that seat in bow-tie-bandit's post is not quite correct. (I don't think it is anyways) Never seen one STOCK with cloth inserts. But the colors are right.
I agree that is the glove box door is missing, then look in the seat for a build sheet.
If it has the two tone gold and white seat, I would go ahead and say it is a 50th, I am not familiar with any other trucks coming with 2 tone seats at all...at least not untill the later 71/72s with the hounds tooth seats.

50th Burbs and Panels did not have the gold and parchment interior. They came with Fawn interior. They also lacked the white paint under the trim. They would be solid gold, except for the white top and grille. Burbs and Panels would be "Custom" trim package, because I don't think the CST was offered for these two models. They also made a 50th van.

Dan,
Awsome. did it look like that in the picture? Do you have any pictures?
I had never seen nor heard of it, but I'm sure it is true. My 69 GMC lists a cloth seat.

Longhorm Man,

" did it look like that in the picture?"

Well how do I answer this...When it was new I'm sure it looked like the picture. I am the third owner and this is the story I got. The original owners dog chewed up the back of the seat and the second owner replaced the back from a juckyard seat. Now the seat base was a foam seat and the back was from a spring seat. When I got it, it had a seat cover on it because it was all ripped. Since I bought the truck in pieces, most of them in the bed, I threw the seat outside because I didn't have any room for it and it didn't look very good. (mind you I live it Washington State...rain) About 8 months later I was cleaning up and thats when I discovered my build sheet and pulled the seat cover off to see the parchment seat base with the gold cloth. The seat is long gone now sorry no pics.

My blue 68 also has a cloth seat with the same pattern on the cloth, but blue.

Thumbs up 50th seats came Cloth & vinyl

Dan72cst : Looking at all of the Build Sheets and Service Part ID's in the glove boxes that the other 50th Ann truck owners have sent, I do think that you had the Ivory Vinyl/ Gold cloth seat.

On your build sheet it shows two key options......
551 Ivory / ???
525 Parch ??? trim

Bow-tie- bandit Service parts ID shows.........
551 Off-White / Gold
626 Parch / vinyl trim

The outside two tone color of the truck is the same code 551
the interior code is different 525 and Bow-tie-bandit 626
On your build sheet where the seat spring came thru the paper can you read and fill in where I have the ? marks

UPDATE upon further research I have found that any truck with the CUSTOM COMFORT & APPEARANCE option # Z62 received 15 upgrades # 9 being; ( Full-depth foam seat with color-keyed vinyl and WOVEN FABRIC )
