been reading on here for a while thought yall might get a laugh. I've had a 72 project for 6 years that i bought from a friend he had for several years i finally got around to putting tires on it today when i popped the beauty ring off one wheel i found $25 tucked in it. i then ripped all the others off but wasn't lucky twice.

Sounds like a good find. I don't get that lucky when I pull beauty rings off. Haha

Re: found money

Believe me it's a huge money pit I thought of doing a build thread one day but no one would believe the trouble I've had. Their an addiction I've kept this one when I should have sold it so I guess I'll keep hanging on. Too bad it wasn't $25k then wouldn't have any worries

Re: found money

Never found money in a truck but when I worked at a tire shop I found a bag of chips in the tire of a car. The owner said that tire had never been off the rim so I assume it happened on the assembly line.

Re: found money

I found a Belgian franc coin dated 1945 and made of aluminium or zinc. I found it in a 65 Pontiac 2+2 I bought back in the late 70's. figure that one out.

Re: found money

I removed the back seat from my '60 Chevy bubbletop and found a Playtex 38-D bra with seven 1 dollar bills pinned inside the cups.

That 38-D deserves to be hung in the man cave/shop/garage (with the wife's or significant other's blessing or reluctant "ok, I guess LOL). Gotta be a great conversation piece with the back story!!

I found a twenty in the folds of the gas tank cover on one of my trucks. I'll take $10 for it!

Re: found money

bought a cab out of a local salvage yard about 12-15 years ago for $75. got it home and started stripping out unneeded parts and cleaning. ran my hand down in the "pocket" above the cab corners and under the gas tank and found approx. 40-something silver dollars all dated prior to 1963.

cha-ching.

A buddy and I used to check all the ashtrays at salvage yards just to find enough roaches to roll a fatty.

Talking Re: found money

You do know that just about any bank will exchange that "Half bill" for a full one, right?

Say what? Maybe Canada is different, but to my knowledge you need both serial numbers.

I presume you're joking, otherwise you could tear bills in half and visit two different banks and double your money...

Dave is correct. if the "half" has both serial numbers on it they will, otherwise no.

Re: found money

I bought a car from a guy at "a local well known software company" and under the seat I found his Company ID card and a ticket to the "Hot Sex Workshop". Since the ticket had expired, I mailed him only the card key.

A braver man would have mailed both.

In less disturbing news, I found tickets for a national park dated about 1972 down behind the carpet. That was kind of cool.

Hart Rod - I should have mentioned that I found the bra in 1967... way before the smart phones with cameras.

Re: found money

Guy restoring what he thought was an every day 67 Camaro bracket car. Pulled out the console and carpet, found Mickey Thompson's Amoco Credit card. Turned out the car had been MT's..... Am sure his investment blossomed
