Clutch fan questions
When I had my truck apart I noticed that on the clutch fan, the little coil thermal spring on its nose was unhooked, so I re-wrapped it and hooked it back under the little tang.
I have no idea if I wrapped it one too many, one too few, or just the right number of times. The fan is NOT very stiff when hot - like you can easily spin a half turn out of it, so its not very locked up. Without one to compare to, is there any way to know if my fan is right? I've been having some heating issues at idle, and it's not roaring or pulling a lot of air. Worst case, what's a good source for a RELIABLE clutch fan clutch? I'd buy new GM if I could get it on that kind of part.

Re: Clutch fan questions
Buy a new one from most any of the auto parts stores, looks like the most expensive one for your truck from Oreilly is $85 or so. I bought the mid priced one ($40) for my Blazer. Have a 160 thermostat, 6 blade fan and the stock shroud from the 350 on a mild 454. Can't make it run hot down here in the summer.
