Anyone running clear side marker lights?
I have been thinking of replacing my amber lens and red lens side markers with clear and just run coloured bulbs. Is anyone doing this? Have pictures?

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
Not on this truck, but I sort of do on my 2+2. From the factory is has clear side markers up front (red on the rear though) and I run ambed/red LEDs in them.
They look great, and are VERY visible from the side, much moreso than the original bulbs. Be careful about messing up the safety feature of reflectors showing which way the vehicle is pointing, that's as old as our trucks!

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
I have purchased the clear marker lights, haven't installed yet. You can buy them here pretty cheap as well:

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
Southern Kentucky Classics has nice Euro markers in both amber red and clear if you must. Already Gone has a set on his truck. But I am with Dave here the traditional colors are there for safety reasons and should be respected. As far as a style, SKC offering is great and adds a touch of bling without being the way overused, de rigueur if you will, "Deluxe" style. One of my favorites is the 85-96? Chevy G-van markers. Clean and bright as well as low profile and smooth. They are worth a look and common replacement parts.

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
spray the head lights too, can't see much but it looks COOL.... I'm KIDDING
Sorry, maybe I'm old 'n grumpy but I want to be as visible as I can be. Hate to have somebody bash into one of my 40+ year old vehicles 'cause he couldn't see it.

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
After taking a closer look at these, I think I am going to go buy a can of VHT tint instead, and go for the dark look instead of the clear, I've used it on other marker applications and it always turns out good.

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
hey all, I've been following this thread, as I too am in the same boat with the colored/clear side marker lenses. I like the look you did with the tint, but I'm not familiar with this VHT tint. Could you post a pic of the can so I know what to look/search for. I think I'll give this a shot also, before buying new lenses

Re: Anyone running clear side marker lights?
the tint only appears in the daylight when the lights are on it is red on the taillights and during the day it lights when you brake and turn too.
