Post steering box

Does anyone know the cap. of a standard 53 3100 steering box? Overhauled mine, new everything, including copper washers but it still leaks. So I am going to use JD corn head grease. Would like to know how much to buy. Randy

Re: steering box

I've never seen a written capacity and never measured what I put in the when I rebuilt one.

Smile Re: steering box

Thanks BOOM, I did not know that Classic parts had a forum. I just put in 1 & 3/4 tubes of JD corn head grease. I removed the bottom bolt and pumped the grease in from the bottom till it came out the fill plug hole. Will drive it for a while then recheck it and put in more if needed. Randy
