Opinions
Went to a swap meet and found this hatch handle. At least that's what I think it is. Wasn't sure if the key should have matched the door or the ignition key but I figure that could be the next gig if it is the correct handle . So picked it up for $10 came home and finished assembling my hatch latch. I found a piece of square holed stock online but it only comes in 1/2 inch diameter and two inches long which fit the bill as I only needed one inch. So I had to machine down some pipe and insert the square stock into the pipe and weld it . That's about as close as I can get to original looking I'm going to get I guess and now ready to install the latch except I don't have a hard top any more LOL. I'm going to find one some day but in the mean time I now have all the metal hardware for a hard top when I do find one. Could use some expert advise if the handle is actually the correct handle Attachment 1537687

Re: Opinions
By the way for any one interested the square hole stock is available I can't remember where I got it from cause I actually bought it a couple few years ago in anticipation for when I finally got my lathe set up again but it was about $75 bucks then and I may post it here if I should bump into it again

Re: Opinions
The handle looks correct, spring should have less winds and thicker wire.

Re: Opinions
Good eye on the spring but I was wonder if it is wound the right way. And I agree the spring is a couple revolutions too many. I have the formula for the parts under the spring that might be useful here. Maybe turn down a couple more if there's a need for them.
