Re: Memorial Day
This is Mr. Steve Griffin, who is 97 years old, a proud World War II Veteran. He served on one of the escort destroyers that accompanied the U.S.S. Missouri to the Surrender of Japan. Today's ceremony at VFW Post 8290 was to award him metals that he rightfully earned, but for some reason we're never given to him In my 4 years as Councilman, this was the best day so far.

Re: Memorial Day
Hats off to Mr Griffin!
Yesterday in observance of Memorial day I went out and shot two of my WWII M1 service rifles. 1943 Underwood M1 Carbine and 1942 Springfield M1 Garand. Thanks to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving our country and thanks to those that made it home safe. |
