Front Lower Control Arm Shaft 1968 C10
Good Morning all. I'm working on changing the lower control arm shafts on my 68 C10. I ordered the replacement shafts from Rock Auto and received them very quickly. The replacements are MOOG and I've lined them up in the attached picture. The overall length is the same, the thread length is the same and the bracket dimple is the same. The only difference is the length of the shoulder from the end, where the seal goes on. As you can see more clearly on the right side of the picture, there is a half inch difference between the old and new. I don't think this will make any difference, but wanted to get some of the wiser, experienced viewpoints from someone who has changed these out before.
Thanks in advance for the replies! |

Re: Front Lower Control Arm Shaft 1968 C10
i recently did this too and it seems the only effect is the seals sit differently. but it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! That was what I thought too, but glad to hear from someone who has had the same thing. Hard as it was to get the end caps off, I glad I won't have to do this again for a long while!
