Air Filter Assembly Set Up

I have a 1970 Chevy C10 with a 250 Straight 6 cylinder engine. Can anyone out there tell me what the large spacer that fits on top of the carburetor and the filter holder sits on with a rubber hose the fits in the side of the spacer? Or does anyone out there have a picture of this type set up? Also what size bolt comes out of the top of carburetor that holds the top on the filter?

Re: Air Filter Assembly Set Up

i'm not really sure exactly what parts you're describing, but i was working on my 1971 250 this evening so i took some pictures. the truck is mostly original, and to my knowledge this setup is factory correct. but i could be wrong. i don't see any spacer, the cleaner housing sits right on the carb. i believe the wing nut is a 5/16" thread.

Re: Air Filter Assembly Set Up

I have an offset air cleaner....this thing looks very similar to my bottom half, but this one is not offset.

I won't hook up any of the rubber hoses (didn't get any with it) but I will need the parts that allow me to attach the unit to the carburetor.

My truck didn't come with an offset air cleaner, but I bought one and I want to put it on.

Ok, I created an album on my Public Profile Page. There are some pictures that should help. Looks like the Stud is a 5/16". I don't use my air cleaner since i added Power Brakes.

Re: Air Filter Assembly Set Up

Hey Joe, thanks for the pictures. I am needing the air cleaner spacer for the set up. I have the hose that comes out of the top of my valve cover.

Re: Air Filter Assembly Set Up

I have made that spacer out of exhaust pipe. Weld a tube into it or use a vented oil cap.
