Extra fuse panel?
What does it take to put an extra fuse panel in? The reason for the question is this. I scored a fuse panel out of another truck for next to nothing, and I want to do an "add- on" to mine to get additional wiring capabilities. With the additional electrical circuits I've put in, my fuse panel looks like a bowl of multicolored spaghetti, and I want to clean it up, and make it safer. I really done need a BBQ under the dash.
Of course, if I can do this I'll relabel the extra panel to reflect what it goes to. |

Re: Extra fuse panel?
Another part of the question.
Is it safe to hook an additional panel to the main power source that powers the regular one? Again I don't want to burn my truck down |

Re: Extra fuse panel?
Buy a fuse panel with the appropriate number of circuits you need adding in another just increases the fire potential .What are you adding that you need a larger panel ? 0. And just adding more circuits means you have to upgrade your charging capabilities ,battery to carry the extra load etc etc etc .it's just not add more wires .

Re: Extra fuse panel?
Good point. I think I'm just going to get up under the dash, clean it it up and rewire everything that's not original, like the radio, courtesy lights, and the such.
I just need to get away from the "cobble job" (thanks to the PO) that I have now. I do have a pack of the fuse terminal additions, that fit in the panel. |
