anyone have a cheap cab or bed dolly set up?

My Cherry picker legs keeps hiting the dolly I made so I cant transfer my bed and cab when I need to work...its so low that the legs hit the caster dolly. I could buy new bigger casters but was wondering who has a nicer cheaper set up for this.. thanks

Re: anyone have a cheap cab or bed dolly set up?

I have never uploaded a photo to the site before, so i am not sure if the photo showed up. I made mine out of a set of discarded tow dolly wheels. Cut the spindles off of the Dolly's welded them to a 2X2X 3/16 angle iron. Then bought a couple of inflated tire swivel cadters from harbor freight, and welde them at the opposite end. Laid a couple of 4X4 in the angle iron frame rails. The rockers Hang over the edge. Hope that helps. If the pictures did not show correctly send me an email

build your own using 2X4's and cheap dolly wheels from harbor freight . it's not going to live there just long enough to rebuild it .

Re: anyone have a cheap cab or bed dolly set up?

I would think 2x4's and some castered wheels would do it.

I built a storage cart from 1x4's and 2x4's and casters I bought from Tractor Supply last March and it has some 400 pounds of steel piled onto it and pushed under my garage counter. These cabs and beds don't really weigh that much anyway. I hear 4 men can lift and carry a cab so it cannot be too heavy.

I have a 2x4 one I built to roll/work on a bed that's held up fine.

I seem to recall someone was selling plans to make one from exhaust tubing that allowed you to roll it so the cab was in the normal position, or so the bottom was to the side to work on the underside. If that made any sense at all...

Picture two lengths of tubing making an L shape with the corner rolled by the muffler shop bolted to the cab mounts. Add features as desired.

Made mine out of two by fours and cheap caster wheels. Made the cab one so the front and rear two bys lined up with the cab mounting bolt holes so I could run the bolts down into two bys to keep it steady. You can build stout enough to use on multiple projects. Just do a little measuring and make a trip to the lumber store.

Franken, I remember seeing that as well. Thatwas the trick for working on the bottom. Maybe it is here in the search?

Re: anyone have a cheap cab or bed dolly set up?

Had same problem with one I made out of 2x4 s, my hoist legs were too high, just took casters off, cut some 2x4 PCs and lag bolted them where casters mount problem solved.
