Press on door weatherstrip?

Ok I did a search on the parts forum but couldn't come up with it. Doesn't someone offer press on weather strips for the doors of our trucks?

Re: Press on door weatherstrip?

Do these allow the doors to shut easier? I bought Precision, but I really need to slam the doors for them to shut, and it's been a few months now. With weatherstripping removed, doors shut fine

Re: Press on door weatherstrip?

They will not allow the doors to shut easier until they are "broken in". With that said, the doors will close much easier it's the windows down I have found. Got them from Wes.

The newest version from GMC Pauls are working great on my truck even with aftermarket doors.

Re: Press on door weatherstrip?

Fresh gaskets often cause door closing issues and it was an issue when these trucks were new leading to frustrated owners and bent doors it's one of the reasons Chevy added the camaro style door vent in the b pillar to help relive cab pressure when closing the doors , before you start slamming your doors to close them try rolling down the opposite window to relive inner cab air pressure , you may find your doors close ok but with the Windows sealed your fighting cab pressure and new stiff seals ? Try it you may be surprised

Many guys added the stainless door vent shades so they could leave the window open a bit and the vent shades look great !

Remember we're dealing with 50 year old technology not your new BMW .

Hah! I was reading thinking I should post, "That's why I always use Ventshades", but you covered that. More like one of the reasons. I'll be getting the push-on type when the time comes.

Re: Press on door weatherstrip?

I just sent Wes a PM, I think Ill get a new gas tank grommet from him at the same time. Does anyone sell the vent shades for our trucks anymore? I have seen them come up from time to time here on the board, just never been quick enough to get a pair at what I would consider a fair price.

Re: Press on door weatherstrip?

They are reproduced I think at $39.99 ? They should come with the install clips so no drilling the doors .

I have the ones Wes had made and I love them. Seals so tight your ears will pop when you shut the doors
