Armored Trucks
I was watching Invasion USA tonight with Chuck Norris and noticed some early 60's to 72 armored trucks. I hadn't thought about these existing prior to now. Any real-life owners with pics out there, or were these fabbed-up just for the silver screen? Pics--

Re: Armored Trucks
I don't see any Chuck Norris, unless he's behind the wheel. I do however clearly see Darth Vader swinging his Light Saber towards the passenger side!
I was unaware they were rivals... but then again maybe not, possibly Chuck has been a spy for the Dark Side all this time? (sorry TexasLS1, couldn't resist mentioning it when I saw him lurking in the shadows) ---

Re: Armored Trucks
I worked for Brooks Armoured car service in Wilmington Delaware back in the early 80's. They used early 70's firewall forward cabs on many of thier truck back them. I believe the company that made the armoured bodies was out of Memphis Tenn. I almost bought one with a mid 60's ford front end on it. I lived at home back then and needless to say but the parents said hell no to that. what a party wagon that would have made.

Re: Armored Trucks
I think those are fake made for movies armored cars made from bread trucks. I've never seen an armored car with a tiny windshield like that. The side windows are even bigger. I think that was for added effect. The top of the body is just rolled light metal. Anyway, still cool to see in an older movie. There were real ones made back in the day, but I only saw medium-heavy duty chassis.
Here is a real one: Here is a great shot of an erly one. This wasn't a movie, but a TV show. Can you guess which one? Hint: It was in the '60s

I wonder if that vehicle survives today, or if it met a sorry end going off a canyon road cliff and blowing up in some Seventies' action TV series?

Re: Armored Trucks
Was Batman really in color??? We didn't have a color TV till the '70s. Not sure what was up with the B&W, unless he was going back in time and they did that for an effect. Did he ever go back in time? The whole thing looks old timey for the '60s. I thought that dummy was Buster Keeton before I saw the other picture with Batman
Maybe those bread trucks (you know bread...money?) were used in a '60s hippy movie painted with flowers, then a Gigantor movie as a SPAAV (Space Patrol Alien Attack Vehicle) and got squashed when they were tickling his belly with rockets

Yes "Batman" was filmed in full color, according to IMDb, even though most folks didn't have color TVs yet. 'Supers' [super-imposed graffic effects] like <WHAM> and <POW> were often in bright colors like yellow or flourescent Orange. Production stills for publicity, were usually released in monochrome, since most newspapers in that period had no color printing.

Re: Armored Trucks
I think I saw it at a friend's house before. Back then, color TV meant pink , green, and yellow instead of 30 shades of grey. I didn't feel I was missing anything
I just found this one. You probably already saw it http://www.imcdb.org/i028764.jpg OMG! You mention giant ants and now look what you've done! http://www.chud.com/community/conten.../61/id/159209/
