1991 2wd 2500 8 lug Suburban lift?
I am looking for a 2-4" lift for a 1991 2wd 2500 8-lug Suburban.
Please spare me the comments about why I want to lift a two wheel drive truck, I live in SW Florida and have no need for 4WD but do like the look of 2WD lifted trucks. Just looking for someone that has actually lifted a 3/4 Ton, 8 lug 2wd Suburban, through whatever means necessary! Spindles, spring spacers, bags, ??? What is this suspension shared with? Same as a 2500 pickup? Thanks in advance! Jeff |

Might be hard to find but maybe some type of prerunner spring up front and lift block in the rear? Beautiful truck.

First of all, nice looking suburban! And second, quite the collection of boats and the C50. Very cool! Looks like you do some restoring and I love that. Boats and Cars,
Back to suburban, back is pretty easy obviously. Either new springs or a lift block and new u-bolts. Front, coil springs correct? I don't know....I'm strictly a 4WD person so not familiar with 2WD stuff. By the way though, I am also a fan of the 3/4 4wd stance. Just a slight lift. And it's not crazy to lift a 2wd. Many, many years ago my brother bought a 2wd Chevy Luv pickup and lifted it with mud tires. Did a great job and looked pretty nice actually!

Looks like Fabtech use to make them but no longer. Sounds like there use to be a ball joint spacer and spring.
In this thread a guy added a 1 Ton HD spring and was able to gain 1.5" for 33"' tires..... http://www.gm***************/forum/s...ead.php?t=4004

Another interesting thread. Looks like he used a 88+ spindle drop.

Thanks for all the responses, and the compliments! I was really busy & forgot to check last week, my subscription doesn't seem to working. Anyway, I found this spacer on eBay the guy said it would work, I'll give it a shot first and see where the ride height ends up before I possibly raise the rear or order wheels & tires. The PO told me he added a leaf to the rear some time ago.
