Led bulbs
I just bought some LED bulbs (1157) for my parking lights/running lights and I'm having problems getting them to go in, I can turn them once I push them in. I think it's because the base of the LED light bulb is too wide so it doesn't go into the housing... Has anyone experienced this and if so how have you fixed it? I was thinking about sanding the diameter of the bulb at the base so I can get it to fit in the recess or I'll have to trim the housing for the bulb itself. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Led bulbs
I had the same issue. Mine went in eventually with a bit of extra force. I tried again with a new standard globe and it went in easy.
Another case of the crap we get sold today that is barely fit for purpose.

Re: Led bulbs
I noticed on mine that the wire that is on the back of the housing that comes through from the bulb to the connector wouldn't slide in and out of the rubber that's crimped to the housing so when I tried to push the bulb in I couldn't push it in enough to get to the point where it turns in the socket . I had to take it out and fill it with pb blaster overnight and work it a little so the spring under the contact would push the contactor back against the bulb freely

Re: Led bulbs
I had modify the bulb a bit to get it to fit, I had to sand the sides of the bulb because the base was too wide for it to fit into the socket. This was the plastic or fiberglass piece that connects to the metal base of the bulb. Once I got that sanded down it fit easily.

Re: Led bulbs
They are tough to get in but 1157-1156 and bayonet bulbs only go in one way but they go in ,ask me how I know. I just wrestled with some yesterday afternoon.
