I got it!

It took a couple of months but I picked up my truck. It's a 71 two wheel drive long bed stepside. 6 cylinder with a 3 speed transmission. I am not sure what I will end up with as far as the bed goes but, I will have a V-8 and automatic and 4 wheel drive. It will be built like I wanted back in the 70's. This will take a while because of the Willys projects ahead of it so I am going to see if I can get it running the way it is so I can use it. That way I can gather parts until I have them all.

Nice start!
It has some 72 parts. Doors and appears to be missing the mirror pad that 71's have. Not that it's a problem, lots happen to these trucks over the years with parts swapping. As long as the VIN on the truck matches the title you should be good to go.

Right, I was going to say those are 72 door panels as well. I am starting to like the step sides more than I used too. Congrats on the find!

The door on the right side is a 72.

Re: I got it!

Looks like a truck with great potential. Cab seems to be in good shape, and there's not a lot to do to make the box useable. Congrats on the find, and I know what you mean about trying to achieve what you wanted back in the day.

Re: I got it!

I haven't had a lot of time to work on the truck, and by the way it is a 72 not a 71. I have tried to start it with no luck yet. Won't even turn over. So after the Jeep Jamboree I'll pull the plugs and try to turn it over by hand. Also the rear axle is stuck, haven't checked to see if the brakes are frozen but that is where I'll start.

Re: I got it!

The glued on mirror is the 72 giveaway. My 71 was listed as a 72 but I figured it out soon enough.

Great start. Where is that new England rust?

Re: I got it!

Looks good , I would bet the brakes are stuck. if your going 4wd first thing you need to find is a Bolt in high hump for your cab ,they are getting harder to find so keep a look out for one .
