Cutting down mirrors
Have you guys ever seen anyone cut down these mirrors? I want to put them on my truck but I think they're too long. My plan is to cut the rod in the middle and take a couple inches out of them and weld it back together. Also do you guys know the material they're made out of?

Re: Cutting down mirrors
They look like mine and they appear to be stainless brackets. If I were going to cut and weld I would use a tig and stainless rod. And I would cut near the outer end --less noticeable. If chrome plated, your finish will never be the same.
