Radiator Support Repair

Looking for advice on what to do with my 71 GMC build. At the bottom of the Radiator Support there is a horizontal lip that is rotted out on my truck. Is there a replacement patch panel for this anywhere? Other than this spot my radiator support is in great shape.

Re: Radiator Support Repair

The area under the battery is very common to rust out on the rad supports. I have a patch panel I bought from Brothers Trucks a while back to repair mine but I ended up needing a whole rad support instead.

Show us some pics if you end up doing this repair.

My core support is rusted very badly there. I would like to repair it, just because I like to repair things. I haven't thrown it out yet.

Re: Radiator Support Repair

I am going to look at it this weekend and see if I can fab the part. Call me cheap but Seems a bit steep at $69 +s/h and only a few 90degree bends. If I have to I will buy it.

It's like a craps shoot and disappointed at some of these patch panels, don't mind paying, but expect them to fit at least denoting known inconsistencies. Just bought lower rear bed sides and the stamped part is missing a step in the arch section. Pretty pathetic.
