Repo Tailgate
Are the repo tailgates without the letters as heavy as an original?

Re: Repo Tailgate
The tailgate I just bought from GMCPauls last week looks and weighs the same as an original one I have. From what I understand there were two manufacturer's out there, one good, one not so good!
Hope this helps Mike

Re: Repo Tailgate

Re: Repo Tailgate
I bought a repo tailgate from GMCPauls more than 12 years ago now and it has held up great. Also went with the blank gate, my body guy was quite impressed with the fit, weight and quality. I would think with Paul's rep it would hold true today for a great alternative for a tailgate. From my dealings with GMCPaul's I don't see him compromising for a lesser quality 'gate. Just my $0.2

Re: Repo Tailgate
there are 5 manufacturers of the tailgates last we checked, 3 make lighter than OEM and 2 make them the same weight as OEM. So there are multiple suppliers providing different quality & weight of tailgates.

Re: Repo Tailgate
i work for an aftermarket company and i can tell you yes most aftermarkets are flimsy. You want to look for CAPA certified for duability and better fitment.
