May Have Found Deluxe Seat Foam :)

I was looking at the seat foam I have for my truck. It came from a Custom Cab so the seat foam is full foam.
The number on it says 3187055.
I search GM Parts Wiki and found in the 1969 page (among others) 3817055 fits 1969 bench seats. Am I reading that wrong?
http://www.gmpartswiki.com/getpage?pageid=219986
Cause if it's right . . .

And in the 1976 parts catalog it says it fits 65-68:

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

When reading the parts book you have to included the sentence above also where it says 62-68 Cab W full Foam Seat
69 Cab .....3187055

The full Foam seat was also available for standard seats.

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

Does the foam from later models work on 64-66 seats. If so standard or deluxe?

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

That's what the question in post #1 is about.
The Deluxe seat is the Full Foam seat shown in #5 above. The standard seat has straight springs front to back of the seat frame.

Just a note--not for 60-61. 62up as you have posted. my seat base is different and my tk has the custom comfort op. It had the cloth cover also (found a few pieces) my seat base is flat.

KUDO's to ya Bud,
didn't know that fact. It takes someone to ask the question in order for the research to be done.

I was excited to see this, Master Chief!
Nothing worse than a nice truck with a crappy uncomfortable seat.

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

I don't think most knew about this. Not much info about seat springs and foam, just what fabric pattern and color. So thanks for posting.

Ya there is no info anywhere I can find on the full foam seats either and the aftermarket sellers cannot address the issue. I was just lucky finding that number I guess.

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

So lets go one step further. Is there two types of seat base springs? 62-up? the one you show is not flat but recessed for the thick foam.

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

So if I currently have the standard seats, I can use this full foam replacement on my seat frame?

What do you think of it's quality? Made in USA?

Good to know same as later year trucks.

Thanks,

Re: May Have Found Custom Seat Foam :)

That's my opinion. Haven't heard anyone say otherwise. Can't seem to find your part number in the GM parts Wiki. Make sure your lower seat springs look like post #5, not straight from front to rear. Ya the lower foam is only $130'somethin bucks right now. If I had a job I'd buy it.
