Recommended tire size...
I just bought a new set of Rally Wheels. Fronts are 8in. and rears are 10in.
Putting these on a LWB 72 that is under the knife right now. Would like to get as wide as I can in the rear and something that will not rub in the front. Any suggestions?

Re: Recommended tire size...
I used to run 235/70 up front and 275/60 out back. My ralleys had 295/50 on the back when I got them, but they were just too short. Even with my truck having around a 4/6 drop.

Re: Recommended tire size...
275/60r15 looks just right on an 8" ralley. imo That's what my rears were. 295/50 will probably look just right on the 10s. They are only 26.6 tall though....

Re: Recommended tire size...
i put some of my specs in the thread below. i agree 295's are pretty short so unless you lower the truck they would look a bit funny. be sure and watch your backspacing.

Re: Recommended tire size...
Back spacing is 4.5in. on rears and 4in. on the fronts.
So if the 295's are to short, what would you suggest? I was looking at a couple tire charts, but really can't figure out what will actually work. From reading threads from my search, I want 29in. in front and 31in. in rear??? This sound right?

Re: Recommended tire size...
ok if you're going for stock height you have more options. your best bet is to pick a few tire sizes and search for them on this site, you should come up with some good pictures. i like summit racing for tire selection because you can filter for different widths/diameters, etc.

Re: Recommended tire size...
This is an awesome calculator. It will compare/overlap 2 different tire sizes.
https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc I run 17x7 front and 17x8 rear on my 65 Mustang and 15x7 and 15x8 on the rear of the C10. I was able to get a set of tires that had the right width for the wheels and the front tire was a tad smaller than the rear so they looked right. You may also want to have a site like discount tire up to check $. You may want a 295/60 for the rear but find they're uncommon and $$ so a 285/60 still fits and is much cheaper (totally using those as an example, I have no idea if any of that is true) or you may find that you want BFG tires but they don't make the size you want for the rear, etc. For the 8" wheel, a 235/70 or 235/75 is a good starting point.

I can find the 285/70 in the Silvertown, but not the 235/70. But I can get the 235/70 in the standard white lettered version.

Re: Recommended tire size...
The fronts are Cooper Cobra GT 255/70/15.
The rears are BFG Long Trail T/A Touring 265/75/15 This is one of the members on here. I think his combination looks just right.

Re: Recommended tire size...
I think a 235 series tire stretches out too much to look good on an 8" rim. Just let my preference. I have a 245 series up front and 265 out back. Both on 8" wheels. I think if I had to do new tires and the same all around, 255/70 or 265/70 would look perfect on rally's.
