Re: 1960-1966 suburban carpet kit?
TPI,
I've never found precut carpet (or correct rubber) that was known to fit these suburbans. Apparently the floor isn't the same as a truck, although I've never had one to try out. B |

Re: 1960-1966 suburban carpet kit?
I had to take my 65 Suburban to an upholsterer and have the carpet made. Had the full floor, wheel-wells, lower gate and kick panels done in the 90's. Cost at that time was $500.

Re: 1960-1966 suburban carpet kit?
There is a pretty easy solution for this. See Auto Custom Carpets: www.accmats.com buy a precut carpet for a pick-up for the front seat area and they sell material by the yard you can have made up for the flat back end. I did this and it was slick and cost effective. If there is a drawback it is that you are limited to loop carpet!

I believe they can put any carpet they have in stock in the mold, so you can choose from all the colors. |

I was going to buy the front section of a truck and just leave the rubber mat in the back, but the place I was ordering from said that even the front section was different -- what was your experience? Does it fit well at the sides? Brian |

Re: 1960-1966 suburban carpet kit?
I know this is an old thread however when I read it, I was left a little unsure and was hoping one of you 60-66 gurus could help me? I'm looking to get carpet for my Suburban.
Is the front floor pan section of a 1965 Suburban the same as a 1965 C-10 pickup truck or is the trans hump area different? It appears that some guys say it isn't and others say it is and I'm just looking for some clarification. I understand that I will need extra yardage to do the second row seating floor section (I don't want carpet all the way in the rear cargo area, I'm leaving the wood floor uncovered) but I want to make sure the mold for the front floor pan is correct. Also does anyone know if the C10 pickup rear cab wall carpet would cover the second row seating floor area by chance? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a Happy 4th all! |
