60-66 cab lights...
Always thought of these as dealer options that a buyer could order. The 66 data book lists them as "Custom Features (Dealer Installed)". But this picture seems to make one wonder... If they're on a smattering of assembly line trucks, then that doesn't seem like a dealer add-on, now does it? Thoughts? I know there were no factory guide lights like the 67-72 era (with roof pads), but always thought they yankee style were dealer only. This style is kinda growin on me....

Re: 60-66 cab lights...
They would have been put on (some off the line and some built to order trucks but YES you could get factory installed ICC lights) C-80s and the like as where required by ICC and they were on 67/72s also on the bigger trucks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevro...Roxbury_NY.jpg
Also on smaller 67/72 trucks from the factory as seen in this pic look at the raised area in the sheet metal for the roof lights https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...e_%2711%29.jpg ... Back in the 50s they only had 3 lights on the roof Last edited by jtrichard; 12-24-2016 at 01:08 AM. |

Re: 60-66 cab lights...
if you could order them in 60-66, what was the RPO? Aware of the raised pads in the 67-72s, but U01 didn't come around til 67-72 era either as far as I'm aware.

Re: 60-66 cab lights...
The light configuration was symbolic of the width of the truck. Two at the extremeties and three Iin the center were to indicate a width up to 102". In the medium duty cabs, it came prewired. Run your arm up the rear pillar on the drivers side and you should feel the coiled wire hanging tthere. Also can be accessed through the hole of the drivers side sunvisor. Look in my Picasa photo album , there should be instructions for installation.

Re: 60-66 cab lights...
RPO V75! Thanks aerotruk! Saw the pic in the 66 data book, just couldn't find the code. That's what I was wondering and it explains the picture now.

Watch for water infiltration. You will be putting holes in a previously solid panel.
