Orange and white wire

Hello,

Can someone tell me what this wire is for? I know it came off a plug off the steering column not sure where the wires go get connected to.

Thanks,
Ramiro

Re: Orange and white wire

In normal applications the orange is BAT (hot all the time) and the white is the ground circuit switched side for interior lights. So your dome light would have these connections, for example.

What that particular connector is and why it'd be on your column I'm not sure.

It looks damaged, like the orange connector has been pushed out of the housing, so check that before putting it back together.

Re: Orange and white wire

Looks like the Brake light switch connector. If I remember right orange should end up at the dome light connector and white should go to the big steering column plug.

Re: Orange and white wire

Oh ok. I need double check to make sure they are connected to the new wiring harness I just installed.

Re: Orange and white wire

Is there a certain way it gets plugged in into the brake switch? How can you tell which tab is for the orange or white from the brake switch. I'm about to hook it up.

Thanks,
Ramiro
