which is rarer? question
first question is a c10 worth more than a c20? next question is factory buckets rarer than a factory big block in a 67/72 trucks? here in sask canada. i have seen more trucks with a big block and not many factory bucket trucks and the well optioned trucks are usually c20 3/4 ton trucks

Re: which is more rarer? question
Neither bucket seat or big blocks are what would be called rare, but I would say the big blocks were more common than the seats. As far as the C-20 s being more common in your area, is because they're heavier duty than the C-10, and I'm sure up that far north, they weren't meant to be show trucks.

Re: which is more rarer? question
Welcome from Saskatoon. Did you find an original Canadian truck with factory in dash A/C ? I'm in Saskatoon and have been into these trucks since 2001, when I bought my first 1972 C10 and haven't seen a factory A/C truck around Saskatchewan. We love pictures on this site so feel free to post some pics of your truck.

Re: which is more rarer? question
Neither C10s or C20s are rare. As far as Big Blocks vs. Seats - well, that's apples and oranges. It is a true statement that Big Blocks are less common than Small Blocks and Buckets are less common than Benches. Not sure either qualifies as "rare" - but buckets probably come closer to being considered rare moreso than any other items you mention. Also keep in mind, low production may mean "rare" by the textbook definition, but it doesn't necessarily mean "more desirable". You'll hear knuckleheads on ebay tout the rare this or rare that because of some meaningless low production number for an option. When you pair up something desirable with something that was also low production, to me that is a good combo. I'll take a common everyday desirable option over a rare chunk of something nobody wants any day. Rare crap is still crap. Anyway, considering your location - I would not be surprised if C20 to C10 ratio is higher up there than in the states - but I'd still doubt there are more 20s than 10s up there. But who knows. Me, I'll take a 20, rare or not!

Re: which is more rarer? question
BB are less common than small and Buckets are less common than bench - the combo of BB with Buckets s even more rare.
I think there is info to the number of BB's were built compared to other engines and also buckets. I need to find my book.

Assuming similar condition and options, yes.

Re: which is more rarer? question
I'm from Regina and the trucks were almost exclusively poverty trucks (except the odd purple big block). I did see a Custom Camper once, but it might have been from out of town!
I'm biased, of course, but what you -really- want is a C20 with ALL of buckets, A/C, and a big block. They're actually not that hard to find in a C20 (or 2500) because they were ordered as campers, and those are the trucks that tend to survive, as opposed to pure work trucks.

Re: which is more rarer? question
Some good info here...and this is my take:
I would say a C10 (1/2ton) on average will bring more money than an equivalent C20 (3/4ton). I think this is due to a majority of buyers wanting the lighter duty ride, height, weight, etc these days....assuming a lot of guys are not buying them to work them anymore. Next, I would take a big block truck over one with bucket seats. My reasoning is that if I decided to go for buckets....I could get them in, upholstered, etc for quite a bit less money and effort than a big block conversion would cost me. Lots of guys have done the bucket seat swap out....almost an afternoon job if your seats are in good shape...and what's 'original' on these trucks...or not....usually isn't an issue if its a nice upgrade. Separately, one thing I notice about most American vs. Canadian trucks is that Americans tended to option up their trucks more (on average) than Canadians. You don't see that many 'full load' trucks up north of the border....a few here and there...but not many. I've run into (Cdn) guys who think that ps/pb/auto and the lower trim make it a 'full load, high option truck'....which it probably isn't by comparison to a lot of the ones that we know are out there. All Good Coley

Re: which is more rarer? question
I really think that the buddy buckets are pretty rare. Look at what a used set goes for. Big blocks seems to not be all that rare in comparison.

i have to agree with twofiftyshifter those buckets for 67/72 trucks are not to common i have only seen a few sets here in regina sask. i found a set of buckets and consul here for 350 dollars i went on a weekend picked them up on a farm by yorkton went to saskatoon bought a air cond system after the same day. next weekend i purchased a factory bucket seat air truck missing the buckets and some air parts what a fluke lol

Re: which is rarer? question
From the GMC side of the world, same thing: buckets and a big-block from the factory in a 3/4 ton. Yay for old dudes who hauled trailers I guess!

Re: which is rarer? question
Hello! I lived in Regina for two years before returning to Wakaw, glad to see another SK member on here. Big blocks never seemed rare up here, just uncommon compared to 6s, 307s, and 350s. Buckets for our Sask trucks I would say is fairly rare, as most trucks sold around us were for work with few frills.
