Advice on headliner
I need some help from someone that has done this. I have all the materials to cover my headliner. Had some broken trim and I found all of it. My trouble is, at the very front of the headliner board, around where sun visor fit, the board just kinda falls apart. I checked others when I was scrounging my trim and the are the same way. Seems to be really thin there. Since it's so close to the font and the metal trim piece that holds it up, can I just glue it to the roof and trim out for the visors? Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Advice on headliner
Mine was like that too. A lot of the board was falling apart, but there was still some there. I went ahead and glued the headliner material to the board and was just very careful with it until I got it in the truck. Once you put your visors and trim back in, it will be fine.

Re: Advice on headliner
Mine was like that as well . I took some alum tape and taped the front edge after I sprayed the loose pieces with headliner adhesive to firm it up . After Assembly all was well .

Re: Advice on headliner
That looks good!! I just picked up one of those overhead consoles, just like that one. I'm going to put it in my 06 Chevy Colorado. Never thought of putting one in my 86 C10.

Re: Advice on headliner
When you recovered your headliner did you delete the dome light? Did you have to trim your console to get it to fit the forward portion?

Re: Advice on headliner
Mine is gone there. It fell to pieces. The alum tape idea is great though, I think I can come out with that and once it's stuck it'll still be flexible.

Re: Advice on headliner
Similar issue but with a 4 door crew cab. The headliner board dissolved when taken down. Would a Suburban headliner with the back cut off fit ?
Boards are almost impossible to find. Thought about fabricating one using light fiberglass cloth but if a Sub has the same config...... Any help for the "Old Guy" is appreciated |

With a little more searching, you might be able to find another place that has them. Check out all the trucks sites like Classic industries - Classic Parts - Brothers - Summit Racing - Rock Auto just to name a few

Re: Advice on headliner
Headliners are easy ; headliner boards are seemingly impossible to find.
