Need a little help

Does anyone know if the measurement between these two mounts are the same on all the 64-66 trucks? The red cab is a 66 and the other a 64 but the distance in different from one cab to the other and I am not sure it should be. Need to figure it out before I try to use the 66 cab as a replacement for the 64.

Thanks all,
Jay

You can easily interchange 64-66 cabs. They're all the same.

Re: Need a little help

If you're finding a difference, that's really, really unusual. There shouldn't be any.

Re: Need a little help

The '64-'66 C10,20 & 30 cabs are identical. And as far as the inner fender mounts, the '60-'63's are the same dimension in that respect

Re: Need a little help

Thanks guys, I will get out there and measure it again. I don't remember the numbers now but they were about an inch or so off if I recall. I know the '66 had front end damage but can't/couldn't see any damage to the cab at all.

So I finally got out there and sure enough they are right at an inch different.

Not sure why the pics are sideways, sorry about that.

Can you take pictures looking straight on at the firewall? Being able to see both from this view may help see what is going on.

Re: Need a little help

Looks like they have both been moved around some over the years or its just the difference between 2 assembly plants. I would not have a problem with proceeding on. It is just the support for the lower corner of the inner fender and if it needs a tweek during assembly a wack with a rubber mallet will make the adjustment.

Re: Need a little help

Did both cabs come off a pickup? Or did one come off a pickup and the other off a C60 or larger truck? Usually the floor and trans cover is a giveaway . Trying to look at the weathering of the inner fenders to see if it is the same width as big trucks also took a different inner fender. Too hard to tell in the photo
