Fuel setup
I'm putting an LY6 6.0 with "returnless" fuel rail into an 86 C10
I want to use 87 tanks and senders but run aeromotive 340 stealth pumps. I'm concerned the 340 pump will overpower a corvette filter/regulator. Anybody encountered this or put an adj Regulator on a returnless fuel rail? I want more than a 255 pump because i plan to use an LSA blower down the road and don't want to redo the fuel. |

The potential problem with something like the larger aeromotive pumps is actual line sizing, because of volume. If your moving enough fuel to need to go larger than 3/8 feed, the standard 'vette reg would require a bunch of up-n-downsizing your line. This reduces the total flow of the fuel run, since each change in size is a restriction point and a possible site for fuel cavitation. At that point you'd be better running the larger size feed all the way, and only have the single change in size at the rail.

Re: Fuel setup
Thanks for the reply. I have found several instances where the corvette regulator could not keep the pressure down to ~58 psi when used with a larger 340lph (or bigger) pump.
If someone is using corvette reg/filter successfully with a 340 or larger I would like for them to speak up as this is a simpler less expensive setup. |

Re: Fuel setup
I'm currently using a Walbro 400lph pump and 'vette regulator with no problems and, like homemade87, I've used an aeromotive 340lph pump with a 'vette regulator successfully.
